Josef Busuttil (MBA (Henley), Dip. M MCIM, FCICM)

Josef was involved in the setting up of the Malta Association of Credit Management (MACM – and is the Director of MACM. He has been a member of the Council of FECMA since May 2003. After twelve years occupying the role of FECMA Vice President, Josef was elected President of FECMA in November 2016.

Josef is an intuitive lecturer and speaker, specialising in trade credit management strategies that enable the credit function to gain and sustain competitive advantage in the market, whilst ensuring sound cash flow and long-term profit. He delivers in-house training and lectures for organised groups. Josef contributed to a number of training programmes and seminars organised by highly reputable international organisations and institutions, such as The European Commission, in a number of countries, including Antwerp, Berlin, Bucharest, Dubai, Dublin, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London, Madrid, Malta, Mexico City, Moscow, Paris, and Vilnius. Josef is a regular contributor of business articles to the international business press.

Rudy Aernoudt holds masters in Economy, Philosophy and European economics. He hasserved as Chief of Staff at European, federal and regional (Flanders and Wallonia) level.Besides he was consecutively Secretary-General of the Department of Economics andinnovation, director-general of One laptop per child, a spin-off of MIT, and ChiefEconomist at the European commission, where he is dealing with financing issues,industrial, taxation and space policy. He is also professor corporate finance and enterprisepolicy at the Universities of Ghent and Nancy; curator of TEDxBrussels; columnist andauthor of several books and papers on politics and economics.

Dr. Michael Sauter is Managing Partner / Founder of Brainbirds GmbH.He assumed various management roles as director, managing director and executive in theconsulting and software businesses, e.g. at Bertelsmann / webmiles, SapientNitro, and SHSVIVEON.His current focus is on leadership, organisation development, and change management.Michael graduated from the University of Munich (Germany), the London School ofEconomics (UK), and the Arizona State University (USA). He is a speaker at internationalconferences and author in the fields of innovation management, digital marketing / e-commerce, and big data / analytics.

Elena Evplova graduated from State University of Management (Russia) in 2010 and started her way as credit professional from developing Accounts Receivable function in Russianentity of French pharm company IPSEN, and then grown into Credit control team leader inNike Russia. As of May 2015 Elena is performing as Credit Manager of Kaspersky Lab, creating credit culture, developing credit policy and global processes. Elena is a CertifiedInternational Credit Professional and a member of Russian Institute of Credit Management.

Gemma Bullivant (FCIPD ACC)

She focuses on the people aspects she sees as critical factors in business productivity, including leadership coaching, emotional intelligence, resilience, psychological wellbeing, grief and loss recovery, organisation change, and team development.
She recently completed an MSc, academically researching the elusive productivity sweetspot – understanding the connection between employee engagement and business productivity.

Phil Rice

Involved in credit all of his working life, Phil has wide ranging experience in a many  sectors such as Construction, Builders and Plumbers Merchants, Vehicle Leasing, Tyres, Consultancy, Window Door and Roof Manufacture, Plastics and has also held positions at NatWest Bank and Close Bros Merchant Bank. He specialises in turnaround situations developing under performing  teams and businesses.
Currently Head of Credit with Aggregate Industries Europe and based at their Leicester Shared Service Centre. Under his guidance Aggregates have held CICM Q since 2010 and in 2014 were awarded CICM Centre of Excellence Status.  More recently he initiated the Aggregate Industries Credit Academy enrolling two office based apprentices one of whom is the first apprentice to sign on the CICM trial blazer scheme.
Aggregates won Newcomer of the Year 2014, Employer of the Year 2015 and Project of the Year 2016 and 2017 at the CICM British Credit Awards. They are the only company to have won awards in four consecutive years.
Phil also sits on the CICM Advisory Council.

Stephan Glismann-Bringmann

Stephan Glismann-Bringmann is a computer engineer and can refer to over 15 years of experience in in International Credit Risk & Fraud Management. As Director Sales & Marketing and Head of Business Development at SHS VIVEON he was responsible for Credit Risk & Fraud Management in D-A-CH, UK, Russia. Before that he held different management positions at Experian and EDIT and supported clients coming from finance, e-commerce and telecom industry. Stephan Glismann-Bringmann joined CRIF in 2016 as Director of CREDITY Management Solutions, helping clients to improve their international credit management. 

Prof. Ivan Grixti

Dr Ivan Grixti PhD, MA (Lanc), BA (Hons) Accountancy, MCIArb, FAIA(Acad), FIA, CPA is a full time academic member of staff within the Accountancy Department at the University of Malta. He lectures in Financial Accounting and IT Applications for Accountants on the under-graduate B.Comcourse as well as the B.Accountancy (Hons) degree programme besides supervising a number of dissertation students within the faculty. He has contributed to the official journal of the Malta Institute of Accountants and has conducted a variety of seminars as part of the CPE Programme. For over 15 years,he held the post of financial controller of the University’s commercial arm which provided him with invaluable practical experience. He is also a sole practitioner on a part-time basis and has assisted the VAT Department on carrying out a number of investigations.

In December 2014 he was awarded the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southampton. Given that his main research area is financial accounting, his doctoral thesis was dedicated to discovering how the change in the accounting paradigm from Historical Cost Accounting to Fair Value Measurement affected the Maltese scenario.

Currently he sits on the council of the Malta Institute of Accountants. He is also a director on a number of government related entities, namely, the Housing Authority, as well as the newly established LandsAuthority. Recently, also he has been nominated by the Rector of the University to represent it on the Academy for Disciplined Forces.

Dr Grixti is heavily involved in the local religious and civil life. He was President of the King’s OwnBand for several years and currently he is the treasurer of the Arch-confraternity of the Blessed Crucifixin Valletta, which is responsible for the organisation of the Good Friday procession. More recently he has been appointed as a member of the audit committee of the archdiocese of Malta by H.G. Mons Paul Cremona O.P.

Philip King (FCICM)

Philip has been the Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, the largest credit management association in Europe, since 2006.  Prior to that, he had 26 years practical experience in trade, consumer, and international credit management.

He is widely recognised in the UK and internationally as an expert and speaker on good business practice and, in particular cash-flow and credit management for businesses of all sizes.  Philip is the author of the Managing Cashflow Guides which were produced for the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and of which there have now been over 550,000 downloads.

In addition to leading the Chartered Institute of Credit Management in its work to raise the profile and professionalism of credit management, Philip sits on a number of industry and UK government-led bodies, co-chairs the Prompt Payment Code Advisory Board and a member of the Joint Insolvency Committee.  The Chartered Institute of Credit Management also administers the Prompt Payment Code for BEIS, and works closely with it in supporting the development of late payment and enterprise policy.
